Dear colleagues!

Vladimir VorobevOn behalf of the Organising Committee, I invite you to participate in the Science Conference “Horizontal wells. Challenges and opportunities” that is to be held on May 15-19, 2017 in Kazan’ city.
Topicality of oil and gas fields development using horizontal wells cannot be overestimated. Dear colleagues!

On behalf of the Organising Committee, I invite you to participate in the Science and Applied Research Conference “Horizontal wells. Challenges and opportunities” that is to be held on May 15-19, 2017 in Kazan’ city. Topicality of oil and gas fields development using horizontal wells cannot be overestimated. In the conditions of today’s market, when oil price has come down, horizontal drilling allows to minimise risks of inflow lacking, to increase degree of reservoir penetration and well flowrates, and rise profitability of projects.
The horizontal drilling workshop in the autumn of the year 2015 aroused much interest of oil and gas and petroleum service companies. Specialists from Rosneft, Gazprom Neft, Lukoil, Salym Petroleum Development, Schlumberger, Weatherford, Halliburton, Roxar, CGG, scientific institutions and universities took part in the event. Representatives of Total, Sakhalin Energy actively assisted in the event holding. The geography of participants was from Erbil (Iraq) and Saint Petersburg to Yakutsk and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
Based on the feedback from participants and their proposals, EAGE decided to put this conference on the list of its regular events.
Tatarstan and Bashkiria area are famous for their rationalistic approach to HC fields development.
Horizontal wells are not an exception; their portion in the Volga-Urals Petroleum Province is rather high. This is the region where in 1952-1953 the pioneering horizontal drainhole well was drilled in the Kartashevsky Field for the first time. The 17 times greater than in the adjacent vertical wells flowrate was obtained from ten drains.
We would like that the Conference “Horizontal wells. Challenges and opportunities” would provide you with great theoretical and practical information gain.
We look forward to welcoming you on May 15-19, 2017 in Kazan’, the capital of Tatarstan.
