EAGE is pleased to organise a symposium hosted by PETRONAS titled Maximising Carbonate Asset Values through Collaboration and Innovative Solutions from 29 - 30 October 2018 in Bintulu, Malaysia in line with the vision of establishing the city as the center of excellence production and management of Carbonates in Sarawak. The symposium will cover the main areas of carbonate oil and gas reservoir exploration and development: from reservoir characterization and management to stimulation and drilling challenges to reservoir management and surveillance. Special focus will be made on case studies, where new ideas and technologies are required to deliver critical improvements in productivity, efficiency, effective cost and prudent resource management. The symposium aims to deliver multi-angled and well-rounded presentations covering geology, geophysics, wells, drilling, production and management, reservoir engineering and reservoir management. Read more.

Call for Abstracts open!

The technical committee invites geoscientists, engineers, researchers and academics, from around the world, who are interested and involved in all relevant disciplines of carbonate oil and gas reservoir exploration and development to contribute to the technical programme by submitting an abstract and sharing ideas, experiences and case studies. Submit your abstract via email before the submission deadline of Friday, 10 August 2018!

About the Symposium

More than 60% of the world’s oil and 40% of the world’s gas reserves are held in carbonate reservoirs. They are by nature unique geologically and exhibit complex porosity system and permeability characteristics and carbonate field operators find difficulties to deal with the complexity of the reservoir. As such new techniques and interpretation are required to address specific challenges to exploit these reservoirs optimally. Read more.
