80th EAGE Conference & Exhibition 2018
Opportunities presented by the energy transition
Pierre Lanfranchi, Chair of the Local Advisory Committee Copenhagen, welcomes particpants of the EAGE Annual 2018
We have now only a few months left until the event, and the final shape of our conference is now pretty well defined. Indeed, the various workgroups of the Local Advisory Committee have been working hard to deliver a “Scandinavian flavour” to the different components of the overall program.
During the opening session, we shall address the role of the E&P industry in this energy transition period driven by the 2015 Paris Agreement. Organisations involved in this transition will be represented on the floor and will confront their vision, share their challenges and reveal their roadmaps.
The other components of the Executive Program (which is actually open to all the conference attendees), will include a Forum on digitization, and two Executive Sessions; one will deal with Integration in the E&P industry, the other one will focus on Exploration in Europe, with discussions on plays, opportunities, and challenges.
In the Student Programme, competing teams of the Field Challenge (recently renamed “Laurie Dake Challenge”) will be faced with a very interesting exploration round simulated by Maersk Oil. Our student members will have to mobilise all their cross-discipline skills to offer the winning bid.
The deadline for paper submission is now closed and there is no doubt the numerous abstracts submitted will yield a premium quality Technical Program.
I look forward to seeing you for an exciting week in our beautiful city of Copenhagen!
