Seismic Acquisition Project Essentials: from Concept to Completion and Beyond

Mr Jan de Bruin (Project Manager - Seismic Acquisition)

Geophysics - Seismic Acquisition
CPD Points:  10

Course Description
A course about seismic acquisition usually deals with designing seismic surveys. However, if a seismic survey fails or is less successful than hoped, this is often not because there was something wrong with the design. There are other elements that are critical to the success of seismic surveys. These are clients, finance, safety, procurement, scouting, communities, execution, equipment and project management. The course will treat all of these.

Participants' Profile
This course is essential for all those who are now or will soon be managing seismic projects whether they are working for seismic companies or for oil companies. The course will be valuable also for clients of seismic surveys such as explorers, reservoir engineers and production technologists. It will be of interest to people living in areas where seismic surveys are conducted, for people working for governments with the task to monitor seismic acquisition projects and for people working for Non Government Organisations (NGO's) who are making assessments of the impact that oil company projects have on the environment and on the local communities.
