The Conferences of Near Surface Geoscience 2018

EAGE's annual Near Surface Geoscience Conference & Exhibition is taking place in Porto, Portugal from 9-13 September 2018. For this edition, the event consists of the 24th European Meeting of Environmental and Engineering Geophysics, the 2nd Conference on Geophysics for Mineral Exploration and Mining and the 3rd Applied Shallow Marine Geophysics Conference.

24th European Meeting of Environmental and Engineering Geophysics

Join us in Porto for the 24th European Meeting of Environmental and Engineering Geophysics- where we will engage in a technical programme that will cover an important range of topics to the near surface field, including Airborne Geophysics, Forensic and Archaeogeophysics, Geophysical Surveys in Permafrost, Geophysics in Engineering Geology and Geotechnical, Geophysics in Precision Agriculture, Ground Penetrating Radar, Hydrogeophysics, New Technologies, Developments and Research Trends and Studies for Geothermal Energy and CO2 Storage.

3rd Applied Shallow Marine Geophysics Conference

Invitation to the 3rd Shallow Marine Geophysics Conference:

"The safe assessment of site conditions for all types of fixed marine installations and infrastructure requires a detailed understanding of the shallow overburden and the changes therein over the lifetime of the field development. This critical objective can only be achieved through the extensive use of complementary geophysical methods and monitoring, as well as a proper integration with geotechnical, geomechanical and metocean data and models.
Following the successes of the First and Second Applied Shallow Marine Geophysics conferences in Athens (2014) and Barcelona (2016), professionals from academia, research centers, service companies, operators and offshore energy companies will re-convene in Porto (9–13 September 2018) to further present and discuss the state-of-the-art in
characterizing the shallow overburden from coastal areas to the deep sea."

Chairman of the Third Shallow Marine Geophysics Conference

2nd Conference on Geophysics for Mineral Exploration and Mining

Invitation to the Second Conference on Geophysics for Mineral Exploration & Mining

"Following the success of the First EAGE Conference on Geophysics for Mineral Exploration and Mining in Barcelona, 2016, the Second Conference invites researchers from academia, industry, and government organizations to share the recent advances, trending topics and novel geophysical methods in mineral prospecting and mining.
Considering the complex challenges of modern-day exploration, the main focus of the Second Conference will be on discussing the key technical and scientific advances that will improve exploration success and lead to discovery and successful development of mineral deposits. We encourage contributions from all over the world, especially those with a European focus and application. Emphasis will be placed on emerging geophysical techniques for mineral exploration, novel interpretation schemes and challenging case studies.
The aim of the conference is to promote international cooperation on geophysical methods that lead to sustained mineral exploration and development."

Michael Zhdanov
Chairman of the Second Conference on Geophysics for Mineral Exploration and Mining
