81st EAGE Conference & Exhibition 2019
Embrace Change - Creativity for the Future
We are seeing a new era in the energy industry. It is being shaped by powerful forces – population growth and increasing global prosperity; abundant resources; the effort to tackle the climate challenge; competition from renewables; changing energy policies; and technological improvements.
This creates both significant challenge and opportunity for our industry. Technology and digital innovation offer a powerful new way to adapt and thrive in this new world.
The pace of innovation in the industry’s ability to improve the seismic image shows no sign of slowing down. In fact, some recent advances are transforming what we can see in the subsurface in a way we could never before. Digital technologies also offer a real opportunity to address our ability to access, store and integrate huge volumes of data. The potential to process and analyse big data in seconds, rather than months, will continue to open up new opportunities for our industry.
But it is not the technology alone that will create our future. It is our readiness to embrace it. It is our ability to adapt to meet challenges and seize opportunities. In other words, it is really about us, our mindset, and our leadership.
On behalf of EAGE and the Local Advisory Committee, I would like to invite you to join us at the ExCel centre in London for the 81st EAGE conference and exhibition. The theme for this conference is “Embracing Change – Creativity for the Future”. Hosted in London, one of the most diverse cities in the world, we invite you to join the expected 6,000 industry leaders and energy professionals from across the globe in our discussions about the changes and challenges facing our industry.
I look forward to seeing you in London in 2019.
