A Local Chapter is an active scientific community in a certain area representing and actively collaborating with EAGE. The main goal of Local Chapters is to promote geoscience, the work of EAGE and the training and professional update of its members.

Benefits of joining or starting a Local Chapter
Local Chapters should organize at least 2 events per year and can apply for financial support through the EAGE PACE Fund. Examples of events are: lectures, evening talks with guest speakers, seminars, workshops.
Local Chapters can submit periodical articles to EAGE's flagship magazine First Break.
EAGE assists in promoting Local Chapters activities to other members of the Association through various channels, including its website and social media.
All Local Chapter presidents are invited to attend the Local Chapter Summit at EAGE Annual Conference. This is an opportunity for sharing experiences and networking with other chapters!
Each Local Chapter can establish a Students Section. EAGE supports the involvement of students within Local Chapters by sponsoring the annual membership fees for maximum 10 student members per year.
Local Chapters also have the opportunity to collaborate with the network of EAGE, including Special Interest Communities, Student Chapters and Associated Societies. Examples of collaboration are: joint events, sharing of experiences, sourcing for speakers from other groups, representation at external events.
EAGE webinars are live online interactive lectures offered within the Distinguished Lecturer Programme (DLP). Local Chapters can request free webinars to be scheduled for their members of for multiple groups connected at the same time.
